Pysanky Egg Workshop

04/14/2019 - 10:00am - 11:15am

Guest Speaker

A pysanka is a Ukrainian Easter egg, decorated with traditional Ukrainian folk designs using a wax-resist method. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, "to write" or "to in scribe", as the designs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.

We will be having an outside instructor experienced in the art to come and discuss some history and then instruct us on how to make our own. All supplies will be included and you will able to take your art home along with a traditional Kistka and wax to create more. We ask a nominal fee of $10 per person and $20 per family to cover cost of supplies. Contact us directly if this may not be financially feasible. We will be happy to work with you.
